Description:
Soiltech India Private Limited is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 NABL-accredited geotechnical investigation and materials testing laboratory since 1974. We are hiring a Laboratory Manager to run our Pune lab: test quality, turnaround, people, and continued NABL accreditation.
What you’ll do
Technical operations
Plan and supervise testing of soil, rock, concrete and aggregates as per IS 2720, IS 516, IS 2386, ASTM and project specifications
Oversee grain size, Atterberg limits, compaction, CBR, consolidation, direct shear, triaxial, permeability, UCS, point load and cube/core testing
Testing of materials like Aggregates, cement, steel, cubes etc
Review data and reports before release; act as authorised signatory once NABL approves you
Manage sample receipt, storage and retention, and meet committed turnaround times
Support the commercial team on test scope and lab capacity for tenders
NABL and quality system
Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and NABL requirements for the accredited scope
Lead NABL surveillance, renewal and scope-extension assessments, and close NCs on time
Conduct internal audits and management reviews; maintain the quality manual, SOPs and formats
Manage the calibration schedule, intermediate checks and traceability
Estimate measurement uncertainty and validate methods
Organise proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons
Handle complaints, non-conforming work and corrective actions
People and equipment
Train and authorise lab staff, and maintain competence records
Build a trained backup for every accredited test
Plan equipment procurement, maintenance and AMCs
Enforce lab safety and housekeeping
What you bring
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
5-8 years of hands-on geotechnical and materials testing experience
3+ years as Technical Manager, Quality Manager or authorised signatory in a NABL-accredited lab, having faced at least two NABL assessments
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, internal auditing and measurement uncertainty
ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor training preferred
Rock mechanics and advanced soil testing experience is a plus
