Mechanical Commissioning Lead – Hyperscale Data Center (Atlanta)
I'm currently partnered with a leading data center commissioning consultancy supporting a major hyperscale data center programme in Atlanta. They're looking to bring on an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Lead to support commissioning delivery across a large-scale hyperscale project.
The current project is progressing through L1–L3 commissioning, with L4/L5 commissioning expected to begin around October–November. During the L1–L3 phases, the majority of work can be completed remotely from home, with onsite presence required once the project moves into startup, energisation and final commissioning.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead L4 & L5 mechanical commissioning through startup, functional testing, issue resolution and final turnover.
Develop and review L4 mechanical test scripts, commissioning procedures and sequences of operation.
Coordinate commissioning activities with the GC, mechanical contractors, vendors and client teams.
Lead onsite mechanical commissioning teams during startup and commissioning execution.
Support Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), QA/QC and operational readiness.
Review commissioning documentation, punch lists and turnover packages to ensure successful handover.
Troubleshoot commissioning issues and drive technical resolutions through completion.
Ideal Background
Minimum 5 years' hands-on data center commissioning experience
Strong experience leading L4/L5 mechanical commissioning.
Ability to develop or review commissioning test scripts and understand mechanical sequences of operation.
Hands-on commissioning experience with:
Chilled water systems
CRAHs / CRACs
AHUs
Chillers
Cooling towers
Pumps
Heat exchangers
Hydronic piping systems
HVAC controls
BMS integration
Experience working for a commissioning consultancy, GC or AE firm delivering hyperscale or mission-critical projects.
Comfortable leading commissioning teams, coordinating subcontractors and driving projects through final turnover.
Package
Full-time permanent position.
Base salary up to $200,000, depending on experience.
3 different bonuses.
Approximately $5,000/month all-inclusive per diem (subject to eligibility).
$2,500 mobilisation payment.
$2,500 demobilisation payment.
Up to $800/month travel reimbursement.
