About us
Peltra Energy is a fast-growing sustainable biomass company working across biomass pellets, compressed biogas (CBG), and biochar for Indian and export markets. We’re building out our pellet manufacturing capability and are looking for a hands-on engineer to own the technical side of our plants — from machinery evaluation through to running lines on the ground.
The role
This is a core technical role for someone who has actually run pellet plants — not just studied them. You’ll be our in-house authority on pellet-plant machinery and process, guiding decisions from equipment selection all the way to commissioning and optimisation.
What you’ll do
Evaluate pellet-plant machinery and complete lines — assess specifications, build quality, output, energy consumption and suitability for Indian feedstock and conditions
Lead plant design and layout — line sizing, material flow, utilities and balance-of-plant
Oversee erection, installation and commissioning of pelletizing lines on site
Optimise process parameters to hit GCV, moisture, ash, durability and throughput targets
Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues — dies, rollers, hammer mills, dryers, coolers, conveying
Advise on feedstock handling, drying and quality control
Work with suppliers and fabricators on sourcing, spares and maintenance planning
Who we’re looking for (please read before applying)
Direct, hands-on experience with biomass pellet or briquette plants — erection, commissioning and/or operations & maintenance
Strong working knowledge of ring-die / flat-die pelletizers, hammer mills, dryers and coolers
Understanding of biomass fuel quality parameters (GCV, moisture, ash, bulk density, durability) and how process settings affect them
Degree/diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy or related engineering
Comfortable being on-site in India and travelling to plant locations as needed
Problem-solver who can work independently and take ownership
Nice to have
Experience across multiple pellet plant capacities (e.g. 1–5 TPH)
Exposure to agro-residue feedstocks and seasonal supply handling
Familiarity with Indian biomass regulations and schemes
Why Peltra
You’ll have real ownership, direct access to the founders, and the chance to shape a pellet manufacturing operation from the ground up as we scale.
