About EMIT Labs
EMIT Labs is a modern tech studio that helps teams and founders bring ideas to life through fast, iterative product development. Based in Ghana, we design, prototype, and build digital products across industries from early MVPs to full-scale platforms.
We value experimentation, collaboration, and clean execution. Our process is hands-on and fast-moving, translating concepts into tested products using modern frameworks and efficient workflows.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated National Service Personnel to join our team as a Product & Project Assistant. You’ll work closely with the Product and Project Manager to help plan, organize, coordinate, and follow through on work across multiple digital products and teams.
This role is suited to someone who is highly organized, proactive, comfortable working with incomplete information, and able to take ownership of assigned work without needing constant direction. You’ll gain hands-on experience in product and project management while working with developers, designers, clients, and other stakeholders to move projects from ideas and feedback through execution, testing, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in drafting feature documentation, user flows, project briefs, requirements, and acceptance criteria
· Turn client and internal feedback into clear, actionable tasks, identifying whether items are bugs, changes, new features, or future considerations
· Prepare, update, and maintain Jira tickets and project boards, ensuring task statuses and key information remain current
· Follow up on blockers, overdue tasks, dependencies, and outstanding actions, and surface risks or delays to the Product and Project Manager
· Attend client and internal meetings, capturing decisions, action items, owners, deadlines, open questions, and follow-up actions
· Support QA testing across web and mobile products by validating acceptance criteria, logging bugs, retesting fixes, and maintaining test checklists
· Support release and regression testing to confirm new changes work as expected and do not break existing flows
· Help prepare for product demos and stakeholder sessions by validating key flows and ensuring demo-ready functionality
· Maintain project documentation, decision logs, implementation status, scope changes, and release notes where required
· Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, review sessions, and progress reporting
· Coordinate with frontend, backend, design, QA, and other contributors to help keep work moving across teams
· Track deliverables against timelines, milestones, and project priorities across multiple active projects
· Collect and organize user or client feedback, summarize key insights, and support the conversion of feedback into actionable work
· Support product analytics activities, including reviewing simple usage metrics, user trends, funnels, drop-offs, and tracking implementation where required
· Conduct research, including competitor analysis, feature benchmarking, and product or technical research, and summarize findings into useful recommendations
· Help prepare presentations, reports, project updates, and demo materials for internal and external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Core Skills & Requirements
· Must be a recent tertiary graduate eligible for National Service in Ghana
· Background in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, Data Analytics, or a related field
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Highly organized and able to manage tasks, follow-ups, documentation, and priorities across multiple projects
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot missing information, inconsistencies, or gaps in requirements
· Able to work with incomplete or loosely structured information, independently gather context, and ask specific questions where clarification is needed
· Able to prioritize work based on urgency, impact, blockers, dependencies, and deadlines
· Basic understanding of software and digital product concepts such as frontend and backend development, APIs, environments, bugs, feature requests, staging, and production is beneficial
· Comfortable testing web and mobile products and documenting issues clearly
· Basic familiarity with productivity and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Figma, and Slack; training will be provided where needed
· Comfort with spreadsheets and basic data interpretation; a background or experience in data analysis is a plus
· Ability to research independently, synthesize information, and present concise findings rather than only collecting raw information
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities may change
Soft Skills That Matter
· Proactive – you take initiative, follow up, and move assigned work forward without waiting to be reminded
· Accountable – you take ownership of tasks and communicate early when something is blocked or at risk
· Organized – you can keep track of multiple tasks, decisions, deadlines, and follow-ups across different projects
· Detail-oriented – you notice gaps, inconsistencies, and small issues that could affect delivery
· A clear communicator – you can turn conversations and feedback into concise documentation and actionable next steps
· Resourceful – you research, review existing context, and attempt to solve problems before escalating
· Adaptable – you can switch between projects and priorities while maintaining context
· A quick learner – you are curious and can pick up new tools, workflows, and product concepts quickly
· Good judgement – you know when to proceed independently and when a decision or clarification needs to be escalated
What You’ll Gain
· Hands-on experience in how digital products are planned, organized, built, tested, and delivered
· Exposure to product and project management across multiple real-world web and mobile products
· Practical experience with agile workflows, sprint planning, backlog management, QA, and project tracking tools
· Experience translating client and user feedback into structured product work
· Exposure to product analytics, usage metrics, user trends, and data-informed decision-making
· Opportunities to strengthen research, documentation, stakeholder communication, and presentation skills
· Direct collaboration with developers, designers, clients, and the Product and Project Manager
· Mentorship and guidance to build a strong foundation in product and project management
· Experience taking ownership of real project responsibilities in a fast-moving product environment
