Job Summary
Bhavya Infrastructure is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Senior Civil Engineer to manage construction site execution, labour productivity, project billing, client coordination, quantity estimation, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and project planning. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed as per approved drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, project schedules, and company targets.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to independently manage site operations and achieve project milestones within the stipulated time and budget.
Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Site Execution and Project Management
Supervise and manage day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
Ensure work is executed as per approved architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and site supervisors.
Monitor site progress and resolve execution-related issues promptly.
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, machinery, and other resources.
Maintain proper site records, daily progress reports, and work completion records.
2. Billing and Quantity Management
Prepare and verify client bills, running account (RA) bills, final bills, and subcontractor bills.
Prepare detailed measurements, quantity calculations, and measurement sheets.
Check executed quantities against BOQ items, approved rates, and contractual terms.
Identify extra items, variations, deviations, and additional work and prepare the necessary rate analysis and supporting documentation.
Follow up with clients and consultants for bill certification, approvals, and payment processing.
Maintain accurate records of quantities executed, billed, certified, and pending.
3. Labour Management and Productivity
Plan and allocate labour according to daily and weekly work requirements.
Monitor labour attendance, productivity, output, and work quality.
Set daily targets for labour teams and subcontractors and ensure timely completion.
Maintain labour records and coordinate with contractors regarding manpower requirements and payments.
Identify delays or low productivity and take corrective action.
Control unnecessary labour costs and improve overall site efficiency.
4. Client Meetings and Coordination
Attend regular client, consultant, and project coordination meetings.
Communicate project progress, pending approvals, site requirements, and execution challenges.
Discuss billing issues, variations, extra items, and work schedules with clients.
Maintain professional client relationships and ensure timely resolution of complaints and technical queries.
Prepare meeting minutes, action points, and follow-up reports.
5. Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) and Technical Work
Prepare and verify Bar Bending Schedules for columns, beams, slabs, footings, and other RCC elements.
Calculate reinforcement quantities, cutting lengths, bending details, and steel weights by diameter.
Prepare steel consumption statements and reconcile theoretical quantities with actual consumption.
Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate with the structural consultant before execution.
Monitor steel wastage and ensure proper reinforcement placement as per approved drawings.
6. Project Planning and Scheduling
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction schedules.
Develop work plans for activities such as RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, plastering, and finishing.
Set measurable milestones and establish clear deadlines for each activity.
Monitor actual progress against planned schedules and report deviations.
Identify critical activities, anticipate delays, and implement recovery plans.
Coordinate material procurement and manpower deployment to avoid interruptions.
Ensure project milestones are achieved within the agreed timeline.
7. Target Achievement and Cost Control
Take ownership of project targets and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and progress targets.
Monitor construction costs, material consumption, labour expenses, and wastage.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary expenses without compromising quality.
Provide regular progress updates to management, including completed work, pending activities, delays, and corrective measures.
Take proactive responsibility for resolving site-level issues and maintaining project momentum.
8. Quality, Safety and Documentation
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with consultants and clients.
Enforce site safety practices and ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Maintain daily progress reports, measurement books, inspection records, material records, and other project documentation.
Ensure proper documentation of instructions, approvals, changes, and completed work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant civil construction experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of RCC construction, reinforcement, shuttering, concrete, masonry, and finishing works.
Practical experience in client billing, subcontractor billing, quantity surveying, and rate analysis.
Proficiency in preparing BBS and calculating steel quantities.
Ability to prepare and monitor construction schedules and project targets.
Strong leadership, labour management, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and construction planning tools.
Good communication, reporting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of results.

The performance of the Senior Civil Engineer will be evaluated based on:
Project Schedule: Achievement of planned milestones and timely completion of work.
Labour Productivity: Achievement of daily and weekly labour output targets.
Billing Efficiency: Timely and accurate submission of client and subcontractor bills.
BBS and Quantity Accuracy: Accuracy of reinforcement calculations and quantity statements.
Cost Control: Control of labour costs, material wastage, and avoidable expenses.
Quality Compliance: Reduction in rework and adherence to approved specifications.
Client Coordination: Timely resolution of client queries and follow-up on approvals and bills.
Reporting and Accountability: Timely submission of progress reports and effective resolution of site issues.
Expected Outcome
The Senior Civil Engineer is expected to independently manage assigned construction activities, maintain control over labour and site operations, ensure accurate billing and technical documentation, coordinate effectively with clients, and consistently achieve project targets within the approved timeline, budget, and quality standards.
