Plant Manager – AFFF Firefighting Foam Manufacturing

About Deshwal Industries
Deshwal Industries is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead its AFFF (Aqueous Film-Forming Foam) firefighting foam manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in chemical manufacturing, production planning, quality control, plant setup, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Setup & Commissioning
* Lead plant setup, machinery installation, commissioning, and production readiness.
* Plan production layouts, equipment requirements, utilities, and material-handling systems.
* Develop SOPs for manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, and safety.
* Coordinate with equipment suppliers, consultants, laboratories, and regulatory authorities.
2. Production & Process Management
* Manage daily, weekly, and monthly production planning.
* Supervise raw-material handling, batching, mixing, blending, filling, and packaging.
* Maintain batch manufacturing records and material traceability.
* Improve production efficiency, reduce wastage, and control manufacturing costs.
* Ensure consistency with approved product specifications.
3. Quality Control & Product Development
* Coordinate raw-material inspection, in-process testing, and finished-product testing.
* Ensure products comply with applicable specifications and standards.
* Investigate quality deviations, batch failures, and customer complaints.
* Maintain product validation, stability, and third-party testing records.
* Coordinate with R&D teams and accredited laboratories.
4. Regulatory & Environmental Compliance
* Ensure compliance with applicable factory, chemical-handling, environmental, and pollution-control requirements.
* Coordinate relevant BIS certification, product approvals, audits, and renewals.
* Maintain statutory documentation and manufacturing records.
* Ensure compliance with applicable restrictions on firefighting foam ingredients, including PFAS-related requirements.
5. Plant Safety & EHS
* Implement chemical-handling procedures, PPE requirements, and emergency response plans.
* Ensure safe chemical storage, segregation, and spill-control arrangements.
* Maintain fire-protection systems and emergency preparedness.
* Conduct safety inspections, training, and incident investigations.
6. Team & Cost Management
* Recruit, train, and supervise production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse staff.
* Control raw-material consumption, manpower costs, utilities, and inventory.
* Monitor production output, rejection rates, downtime, and delivery schedules.
* Report plant performance and improvement plans to management.
Required Qualifications
* B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering or a relevant qualification in chemical technology.
* 7–12 years of experience in chemical or specialty chemical manufacturing.
* Experience in AFFF/firefighting foam manufacturing is strongly preferred.
* Practical knowledge of batch processing, chemical mixing, quality systems, and plant commissioning.
* Knowledge of EHS, statutory compliance, and manufacturing documentation.
* BIS certification and firefighting foam testing experience will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
* Experience in firefighting foam, fire suppression chemicals, or specialty chemical manufacturing.
* Ability to establish and manage a manufacturing plant from the ground up.
* Strong leadership, troubleshooting, production planning, and cost-control skills.

* Product quality and batch acceptance rate.
* Raw-material yield and manufacturing cost.
