About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

About the Studio
We are a craft-focused, experimental art and design studio dedicated to exploring material heritage, contemporary craft expressions, and tactile design practices. Beads Studio Bhubaneswar at Kunj serves as a curated retail and narrative space connecting traditional artisanal techniques with modern design sensibilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a thoughtful, organised, and hands-on Store Manager (available for full-time or part-time roles) to oversee day-to-day operations at our Vasant Kunj space. As the Store Manager, you will serve as the bridge between our creative studio, visiting patrons, and the craft narratives behind our collections. You will manage daily retail workflows, maintain customer engagement, support visual merchandising, and ensure a seamless experience within the space.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day retail operations, inventory tracking, opening/closing procedures, and store presentation.
Articulate the studio’s design philosophy, material processes, and craft heritage to visitors, clients, and collectors.
Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle customer inquiries, process orders, and maintain accurate inventory stock records.
Work closely with the creative team to maintain aesthetic standards, display layouts, and experimental installations in line with the studio's vision.
Assist with open studios, exhibitions, pop-up events, and special previews hosted at Kunj.
Qualifications & Requirements
Prior experience in retail management, gallery/museum operations, boutique hospitality, or a creative studio environment.
A genuine interest in contemporary art, traditional craft traditions, material culture, and tactile design.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable hosting and speaking with visitors and patrons.
Detail-oriented with strong inventory, spatial organization, and basic numerical skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or event days (adaptable for full-time or part-time arrangements).
