A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive attitude towards learning new equipment, processes and techniques.
It’s preferred if you bring:
Experience with Wire EDM, Spark Erosion, or Form EDM processes.
A recognised engineering apprenticeship or engineering qualification.
Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, or other precision manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Experience operating GF Agie Charmilles equipment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and continuous improvement tools.
As EDM Setter / Operator, you will:
Set and operate Wire and Form EDM machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.
Produce components to exacting quality standards and extremely tight tolerances.
Work from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications, inspection plans and shop documentation.
Inspect components using a variety of manual and automated metrology equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
Carry out self-inspection activities and quality audits to achieve and maintain self-certification approval.
Accurately record production and inspection data in accordance with company procedures.
Identify and help resolve manufacturing challenges, supporting problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and standard work practices, to maintain an efficient and organised work area.
Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel and manufacturing colleagues to achieve production, quality and delivery objectives.
