About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) | Remote - Full-time
Ikiplan is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to manage financial planning & analysis and day-to-day finance operations for multiple growing US software businesses.
You'll work directly with our founder, Valerio Siviero, taking ownership of clients across accounting, FP&A, and financial operations.
We're looking for someone with superior FP&A skills, practical accounting experience and the business judgment to proactively identify problems and recommend solutions.
What you'll do
Own FP&A delivery: Rolling forecasts, budgets, variance analyses, KPI reporting, valuations, and ad-hoc analyses across multiple clients.
Build and improve models: Connect accounting, operational data and business context to explain and predict performance across revenue, profitability, cash flow, and unit economics.
Automate processes: Configure, improve, and oversee AI agents and automated workflows supporting day-to-day finance operations, validating their outputs.
Handle finance operations: Work across accounting, invoicing, payroll, reconciliations and month-end reporting, depending on client requirements.
What a typical 8-Hour workday looks like
1 Hour | Team Collaboration
Daily sync with the team to review priorities, exchange feedback, and resolve challenges.
1 Hour | Finance Operations
Handle invoicing, payroll-related tasks, sales commissions, and reconciliations.
2 Hours | AI-Powered Month-End Close
Guide and oversee AI agents to ensure an accurate and efficient month-end close.
2 Hours | Financial Modeling & Forecasting
Roll forward financial models, prepare variance analyses, and update forecasts.
2 Hours | Strategic Projects & Improvements
Upgrade financial models, conduct critical pricing analyses, or implement new AI solutions that deliver greater value to clients.
The first half of the month is usually dedicated to month end closings and variances, whereas the second half is for model upgrades, analyses and AI and process improvements.
We are looking for someone who has
5+ years of experience with multiple forecasting cycles under your belt. The quality, breadth and level of ownership in your experience matter more than years alone.
Start-up or scaleup experience, preferably in software or professional services firms. Experience working with businesses generating $2M–$15M in ARR is required.
Experience working with US businesses, with a strong understanding of their financial, operational and tax requirements.
Superior financial modelling skills, with demonstrated experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting models in Excel or Google Sheets.
Practical accounting experience, including working with US GAAP, accruals, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, financial reconciliations and month-end reporting.
Hands-on operational finance experience, including involvement in bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, tax and related processes.
Commercial finance experience, including working with founders, CFOs or business leaders to understand business drivers and help frame decisions.
Experience with finance systems, such as QuickBooks or Xero, and familiarity with platforms such as Gusto, Stripe, Ramp or equivalent tools.
AI and automation proficiency, including experience using technology to improve workflows and an interest in building more sophisticated automated processes.
Clear communication and independent execution, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, identify problems and deliver accurate work without constant supervision.
Nice to have
A relevant professional finance qualification, CFA or master's degree.
Working knowledge of Power Query, SQL, BigQuery, data pipelines or financial planning platforms.
Experience with automation tools such as n8n or OpenClaw.
This is a senior individual contributor role. Prior people-management experience is not required.
