ABOUT THE ROLE
The Product Designer will help design and build user-friendly experiences across Neon One’s products. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you’ll take features from early research and design through prototyping and implementation.
This role combines product design with front-end development. You’ll use customer feedback, design systems, and AI-powered tools to create intuitive, accessible, and consistent product experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and improve product features, user flows, and interactions to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
- Conduct user research, participate in customer interviews, and run usability tests to gather feedback and inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes to test ideas and improve usability.
- Build functional prototypes and front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React.
- Use AI-powered tools to support research, design exploration, prototyping, and front-end development.
- Work with Product Managers and Engineers to turn validated designs into production-ready features that balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
- Use and contribute to Neon One’s design system, including reusable components, patterns, and documentation.
- Apply accessibility best practices and test interfaces across browsers, devices, and screen sizes to ensure a consistent user experience.
- Review and refine implemented designs to maintain visual consistency, usability, and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, share design decisions, and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the product.
MUST HAVES
- 3+ years of experience in product design, design engineering, or a hybrid design and front-end development role.
- Strong design skills across user flows, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript, ideally with experience in React or a similar framework.
- Experience with Figma or similar design tools and working with design systems or reusable components.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, including AI coding tools, to support design and development.
- Foundational UX research skills, including usability testing and incorporating feedback into design decisions.
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and standards.
- A portfolio demonstrating the design process, from research and prototyping through implementation and shipped work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product Managers and Engineers.
NICE TO HAVES
