About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Company Description
Saintrose Capital is a technology-driven boutique investment bank advising business owners, project sponsors and fund managers across the United States and Europe. We are building our US sell-side M&A practice for profitable, founder- and family-owned businesses: we prepare the deal, identify and reach the buyers most likely to value the company highly, and run a competitive process designed to maximize valuation and terms. Alongside M&A, we advise on capital markets and place equity and debt for energy, digital infrastructure and real estate projects and for fund managers. Our proprietary buyer intelligence and outreach systems give our clients broad, systematic coverage of the buyer market; senior judgment and disciplined execution turn that coverage into competitive tension, and competitive tension into better outcomes for the owner. To build out this practice, we are looking for a senior US M&A advisor to join our Board of Advisors.
Role Description
This is a remote, part-time role for a Member of the Board of Advisors, focused on the firm's US M&A practice. The individual will be responsible for leveraging their lower middle-market M&A expertise to provide strategic guidance and advice to the firm's management team. Key responsibilities include offering insights on the firm's strategic decisions and periodically reviewing live sell-side transactions to share their perspective on valuation, process and terms.
Qualifications
15+ years in US investment banking, M&A advisory, business brokerage, private equity or corporate development, including senior leadership (Managing Director, Partner, Head of M&A, or equivalent)
A long, verifiable track record in the lower middle market: 20+ closed transactions, many of them sell-side mandates you personally led for founder- or family-owned businesses
First-hand knowledge of how lower middle-market sales get done: valuation, buyer universe (PE platforms and add-ons, independent sponsors, search funds, family offices, strategics), deal structures (earnouts, seller notes, rollover equity) and what makes deals fall apart
