Position Summary
The AutoCAD Drafter prepares accurate, clear, and timely survey drawings and related technical documents. Working under the direction of licensed land surveyor this role converts field data, sketches, deeds, maps, and project requirements into professional plans that meet company standards and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities
· Prepare boundary, topographic, construction, subdivision, as-built, and other survey-related drawings using AutoCAD.
· Import, organize, and interpret field data, survey notes, point files, deeds, maps, record plans, and supporting documents.
· Draft property lines, easements, rights-of-way, improvements, contours, utilities, annotations, and related plan details.
· Perform deed plotting and assist with record research and boundary analysis.
· Calculate and verify bearings, distances, areas, closures, and other basic survey information.
· Revise drawings based on markups and direction from project managers or licensed surveyors.
· Maintain drawing templates, layers, symbols, file organization, and company drafting standards.
· Coordinate with field crews and office staff to resolve missing, inconsistent, or unclear information.
· Conduct quality-control reviews for completeness, accuracy, legibility, and consistency.
· Help maintain project files and meet assigned schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in drafting, surveying, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
· Previous AutoCAD drafting experience required; land-surveying or civil drafting experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, Carlson, or similar survey software is a plus.
· Ability to read and interpret deeds, maps, field notes, sketches, and construction documents.
· Understanding of basic surveying terminology, coordinate geometry, scales, and plan conventions.
