Senior Utility Rates and Billing Analyst

Cavalcade helps property owners reduce utility costs through rate analysis, billing corrections, tax exemptions, and account changes. We are hiring a Senior Utility Rates & Billing Analyst who understands how utilities work from the inside.
Full-time employee | Remote, United States
Base salary: $130,000-$170,000 per year, depending on experience and scope.
Required: prior employment inside an electric, gas, or water utility. Consulting or vendor experience alone does not meet this requirement.
What you will do
• Review utility bills, tariffs, rate schedules, riders, and account histories.
• Identify and quantify billing errors and savings opportunities.
• Evaluate rate eligibility and model complete costs, including supply, delivery, demand charges, and applicable riders.
• Document evidence, assumptions, and recommendations clearly.
• Work with utility operations colleagues to turn findings into implemented changes and verify the results.
• Help improve our analytical software and quality checks.
What we are looking for
• Direct utility employment in rates, billing, revenue assurance, regulatory analysis, customer accounts, or a closely related function.
• Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills, with careful attention to evidence and detail.
• Ability to explain complicated tariffs and billing issues in plain language.
• Comfort owning investigations and working independently on a remote team.
• SQL or Python experience is useful but not required.
