Our vision
At FISHNESS, our belief is simple: “Natural Food is Medicine.” We aim to make safe, clean, hygienically handled and nutritious farmed fish and shrimp a trusted part of everyday meals. Through traceability, responsible sourcing and disciplined temperature control from farm to kitchen, we work to safeguard the quality of food that reaches our customers.
About the opportunity
Join an early-stage startup and learn how food safety, quality control and daily operations come together. During your training, you will gain hands-on experience in receiving, storage, inventory management, production, packing and dispatch. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Executive to support accurate stock records, safe handling and timely fulfilment of customer orders.
Key responsibilities
The following activities will be undertaken as part of your training and under supervision.
Inventory and stock control
Receive and verify fish, shrimp, packaging materials and consumables against purchase orders, indents and delivery challans.
Record inward and outward stock movements in registers and inventory systems; reconcile stock daily and report discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels, flag replenishment needs and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) requirements.
Storage and cold chain handling
Store and handle products at the temperatures prescribed in approved procedures; monitor and record temperatures and report deviations immediately.
Organise stock for clear identification and retrieval, protect products and packaging from damage, and verify packaging integrity at receipt and dispatch.
Production and order fulfilment
Support daily production according to the production plan and customer orders, following approved product specifications and cut standards.
Follow processing, packing and labelling procedures; help meet daily targets while minimising wastage.
Ensure packed products are correctly identified and ready for dispatch in line with quality and temperature requirements.
Food safety and quality control
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and approved food safety procedures.
Maintain clean and sanitised workstations, equipment and utensils; prevent cross-contamination during storage, processing and packing.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and follow personal hygiene requirements.
Report suspected spoilage, damaged packaging, temperature deviations and other quality concerns promptly to the supervisor.
Documentation and reporting
Maintain stock registers, production and dispatch records, daily inventory reports and batch traceability records.
Document damaged, expired or rejected products and escalate them for appropriate action.
Qualifications and skills
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Additional certification in Store Management, Inventory Management or Supply Chain is preferred.
Basic computer skills, including Excel, and a willingness to learn inventory software.
Attention to detail, accurate record keeping, time management and clear communication.
Willingness to learn stock rotation, food safety and quality practices, and to work closely with the operations team.
Training and career progression
The role begins with a three-month training period. On successful completion, the trainee will be absorbed into the role of Executive – Store QC and Production on probation.
As FISHNESS grows, this role offers scope to build practical skills across store operations, quality control, production and inventory management. Team members who demonstrate ownership, consistency and a commitment to food safety may take on broader responsibilities as the business expands. Career progression will depend on performance, capabilities and business requirements.
