Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Engineer Cloud Infrastructure Compute to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and lifecycle management of a large-scale Kubernetes compute platform.
This role will focus on building a reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure platform that supports engineering teams across security, networking, developer experience, and cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on Kubernetes engineering expertise, strong Go (Golang) proficiency, and experience developing Kubernetes controllers and admission webhooks in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for high-impact cloud infrastructure and compute platform initiatives.
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance Kubernetes-based infrastructure platforms.
Develop and improve Kubernetes controllers, operators, and admission webhooks.
Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, availability, and cost optimization.
Lead complex engineering projects spanning multiple teams and distributed engineering organizations.
Establish technical direction, define engineering standards, and mentor engineers.
Improve developer experience and enable product teams to deliver features efficiently.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project goals, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
Contribute to the long-term technical strategy and evolution of the cloud platform.
Support consistent infrastructure delivery across multiple public cloud providers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
12+ years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
Advanced, hands-on Kubernetes engineering experience in production environments.
Experience developing and maintaining Kubernetes controllers.
Experience building and working with Kubernetes admission webhooks, including validating or mutating webhooks.
Strong software engineering skills, with a preference for proficiency in Go (Golang).
Experience defining technical direction and successfully delivering large-scale projects across multiple teams.
Strong understanding of infrastructure reliability, scalability, availability, security, and performance optimization.
Excellent technical leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Istio, Envoy, or service mesh technologies.
Experience developing cloud-native infrastructure platforms at scale.
Experience with Kubernetes operators, custom resources (CRDs), and controller-runtime.
Background in cloud-native, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure-focused organizations.
