Sr. Program Manager Strategic Initiatives

Overview:
As a Senior Program Manager based in Brazil, you will play a highly visible role in owning, driving, and delivering complex cross-functional programs across Product, Engineering, and other partner organizations. You will be accountable for achieving the outcomes and desired objectives of strategic imperative initiatives, providing end-to-end oversight from definition and planning through execution, reporting, and delivery. This role requires a seasoned program leader who can operate effectively with executive stakeholders, influence across organizational boundaries, and ensure critical product and strategic goals are delivered using Agile methodologies and Scaled Agile PI Planning.
You will be part of an experienced, accomplished team that engages broadly across Mitel and supports corporate-level initiatives with significant business impact.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage complex cross-functional programs in accordance with Mitel’s goals, processes, strategic priorities, and governance expectations.
• Own and drive strategic imperative initiative-type programs, including outcome definition, objective alignment, execution planning, executive-facing communications, and delivery of measurable business results.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across Product, Engineering, Operations, and other partner organizations by clarifying ownership, facilitating collaboration, and removing blockers.
• Establish program success criteria, desired outcomes, measurable objectives, integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedules.
• Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, capacity constraints, and critical path items to ensure delivery remains on track and aligned to business priorities.
• Track technical and business issues, facilitate resolution, and coordinate decision-making to maintain momentum and deliver a superior customer and stakeholder experience.
• Manage multiple workstreams and program facets concurrently, maintaining clear visibility into progress, dependencies, resource constraints, risks, and decisions.
• Establish and manage program governance, including operating rhythms, steering updates, decision logs, escalation paths, and executive review cadences.
• Implement and manage change control, communications, adoption planning, and stakeholder engagement to ensure program goals and intended business outcomes are achieved.
• Produce accurate, timely, and executive-ready reporting, including status updates, dashboards, decision briefs, risk summaries, and recommended actions throughout the program life cycle.
• Support identification and execution of organizational, process, and business improvement opportunities that enable strategic initiative delivery.
• Develop knowledge of Mitel products, systems, software, hardware, applications, customer priorities, and corporate strategic objectives.
Requirements:
• Degree in Project Management, Business or Business Communications, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience required; 8+ years of program/project management experience preferred, including senior-level ownership of complex, cross-functional product and engineering initiatives.
• Strong program management experience using Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies such as Lean, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled planning approaches.
• Familiarity and experience working with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), portfolio planning, roadmap alignment, integrated milestone planning, dependency mapping, and trade-off management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint is required, including maintaining SharePoint sites, organizing program documentation, managing content structure, and ensuring information is current, accessible, and well-governed.
• Experience in infrastructure, software, migration, network, datacenter, premise, hybrid, or cloud-based programs in Telecom/VoIP or related technology environments.
• Proven stakeholder management skills working across Product, Engineering, operational teams, non-technical teams, and senior/executive stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to influence, align, and communicate across organizational boundaries.
• Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills, including the ability to distill complex program information into clear presentations, reports, status updates, risks, decisions, and recommended actions.
o Strong professional English communication skills required, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex program information to executive stakeholders and geographically distributed teams, including stakeholders primarily located in the North America region.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, outcome-oriented, and able to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving, and highly visible program environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and drive accountability without direct authority.
Additional Skills:
Preferred capabilities include experience with Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, or similar program management, collaboration, and reporting tools, along with strong PowerPoint skills for executive presentations, reports, program updates, and status communications.
• Project management certification(s) such as SPC, PMP, PgMP, Six Sigma, Lean, MBA Project Management, and/or SAFe Agile are preferred.
