Senior Legal Counsel - Employment and Privacy

About the role
The successful candidate needs to have an eye for detail and will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of employment and privacy matters.
What you will do
Provide practical, timely legal advice on employment issues, including employee terminations, complaints, and tailoring work schedules to meet business needs.
Advise on privacy-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Draft and review employment/privacy documentation, such as contracts, policies and notices.
Conduct in-depth research on legal topics relating to employment and privacy, referencing case law and regulatory updates.
Identify legal issues, analyse legal risks, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
Support and advise other departments as necessary.
Support team members as necessary.
Liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and resolve legal issues.
Assist in building a scalable foundation for the Legal Team by developing templates, processes, and policies.
Maintain records of group policies and procedures and ensure adherence internally and with relevant regulatory authorities.
What you bring
5 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer with particular focus and expertise in Employment and Privacy.
Proven leadership skills.
Strong knowledge in employment and privacy laws in Malta or Gibraltar.
Multi-jurisdictional skills will be considered an asset.
Strong analytical abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
High proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Outcome-focused with a pragmatic approach to applying legal principles.
