Role Description This is a part-time, remote Software Engineer role. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power data-driven products, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, writing clean and testable code, reviewing peer code, and troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves collaborating with product and data teams to integrate data sources, optimize APIs, and improve overall system architecture. The Software Engineer is expected to follow best practices in software development, documentation, and secure coding while working independently in a distributed environment.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development principles
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Experience with Back-End Web Development, including APIs and server-side frameworks
Ability to write maintainable, well-documented, and testable code
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
Understanding of databases, data structures, and algorithms
Experience working in remote or distributed teams is beneficial
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
