In this role, you will manage daily accounting operations and support the Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and improving accounting processes. You will take a hands-on role in the monthly close, oversee key accounting activities, and partner with teams across Blueprint to resolve issues and support business needs.
What You'll Do

Coordinate the monthly close process, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, and ensure assigned activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules applying U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Review financial results, investigate discrepancies, and prepare explanations of significant account balances and budget-to-actual variances.
Oversee timely and accurate client billing, collections, vendor payments, and payroll processing in coordination with the appropriate teams.
Support revenue recognition and project accounting by reviewing contract terms, billing schedules, accrued revenue, deferred revenue, and project-related costs.
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring transactions are classified consistently and supported by appropriate documentation.
Apply established internal controls, review transactions and reconciliations, and escalate accounting issues or control gaps to the Controller.
Maintain documented accounting procedures and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
Develop, maintain and support monthly and annual budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and cash flow planning by preparing schedules and financial analysis.
Prepare audit schedules, tax preparation, and applicable reporting obligations.
Partner with Delivery, Client Development, HR, and other departments to resolve accounting questions and improve information flow.
Support accounting system enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.
Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including experience coordinating accounting operations, leading close activities, or reviewing the work of others.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and payroll accounting.
Ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recognize matters requiring escalation.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and recurring deadlines.
A hands-on, collaborative approach and willingness to support both routine accounting activities and process improvements.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
Sound judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting experience in technology consulting, professional services, or another project-based business.
Experience with service-based revenue recognition, project accounting, and profitability reporting.
Public accounting or financial statement audit experience.
Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
Experience supporting multi-state payroll, accounting system improvements, or process automation.
