Job Title: Nursing Home Litigation Attorney (Elder Abuse & Neglect)
Salary Range: $130,000 - $250,000 annually + bonus
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Remote/ Hybrid)
About Law Brothers
Law Brothers is one of Southern California's fastest-growing plaintiff personal injury firms. From our Beverly Hills headquarters, we represent injured clients and families across California and Illinois in auto collisions, premises liability, wrongful death, and elder abuse and nursing home neglect. Our attorneys have recovered $500 million for clients, and our brand is one of the most recognized in California personal injury advertising, which means a steady pipeline of cases and no shortage of meaningful work.
We are a founder-led firm that runs on a modern litigation stack and a culture built on three principles: fight for the client, own your cases, and win as a team.
The Opportunity
Our Elder Abuse & Nursing Home Neglect practice is one of the firm's fastest-growing departments, and we are adding a litigation attorney to lead it forward. You will handle cases involving pressure ulcers, falls, malnutrition and dehydration, medication errors, and wrongful death in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities—from intake through trial.
This is a first-chair track. Depending on experience, you will either run your own docket of elder abuse cases from day one or ramp quickly alongside our senior litigators, with a clear path to first-chairing depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
What You Will Do
Lead and manage all phases of nursing home abuse and neglect litigation: case investigation, pleadings, written discovery, depositions, expert workup, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Draft and argue dispositive and discovery motions, including opposing motions to compel arbitration and litigating Elder Abuse Act enhanced remedies (Welf. & Inst. Code § 15657) and punitive damages claims
Analyze medical records, care plans, staffing data, and CDPH survey/citation history to build liability and damages theories
Retain and work with nursing, geriatric medicine, wound care, life-care planning, and forensic experts
Maintain regular, empathetic communication with clients and families—many of whom are grieving—and keep them informed at every stage
Evaluate case value, develop settlement strategy, and negotiate with defense counsel and insurers
Mentor associates, law clerks, and case managers on the elder abuse team as the department grows
Who We Are Looking For
Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
Plaintiff-side civil litigation experience required; nursing home, elder abuse, or medical malpractice experience strongly preferred. We will consider candidates from 2+ years through seasoned first-chair elder abuse trial attorneys, and compensation will reflect experience
Working knowledge of the California Elder Abuse and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act
Strong legal writing, deposition, and courtroom skills; comfortable arguing motions and taking expert depositions
Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a substantial caseload and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Compensation & Benefits
$150,000 – $250,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus
100% employer-paid HMO/PPO medical insurance for you—with spouse and dependents added at no cost to you
Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
401(k)
Paid time off plus 9 additional paid holidays
Remote-first schedule (Monday–Friday), with the option to work from our Beverly Hills office
Firm-paid bar dues
Team outings and firm-sponsored events
Genuine advancement path: we promote from within, and this role is positioned to lead the department
Why Law Brothers
Most PI firms treat elder abuse as a side practice. We are building it into a flagship department, and this hire is central to that. You will get the resources and steady pipeline of serious cases that come with one of California's most recognized injury brands, paired with the autonomy and partner access of a boutique—and you will fight for some of the most vulnerable clients in the state.
