Job Summary
The Credentialing & Pathways Lead is a non-quota-carrying field specialist who accelerates FranklinCovey's growth in the high school, workforce readiness, and CTE markets. The role has two primary mandates: (1) expanding state-level approval of FranklinCovey's Life-Ready Leadership credential, and (2) partnering with Client Partners to build credibility, deepen client confidence, and advance opportunities in this space.
The Lead is an overlay role that multiplies Client Partner effectiveness by providing subject-matter expertise, removing credentialing barriers, and lending institutional credibility in high-stakes client conversations. Success is measured by state approvals secured and influence on pipeline and revenue across supported territories.
The Lead must operate with strong ownership, navigate ambiguity across state policy environments, and translate complex credentialing and workforce-readiness requirements into clear, actionable pathways for clients and sellers.
Essential Job Functions
State Credential Approvals & Market Access
Lead strategy and execution to secure approval, recognition, or endorsement of FranklinCovey's Life-Ready Leadership credential across additional states, maintaining a prioritized pipeline with clear status, next actions, and timelines.
Research each target state's approval landscape regarding education agency processes, CTE and workforce frameworks, graduation and credit requirements, accreditation bodies, and funding streams, and monitor policy changes that create new opportunities or risks, adjusting strategy accordingly.
Build relationships with state education officials, CTE directors, workforce boards, and accreditation bodies; prepare and shepherd all required submissions, applications, alignment documentation, and evidence packages to achieve approval.
Field Credibility & Ride-Along Sales Support
Maintain deep, current expertise in the high school, workforce readiness, and CTE landscape.
Serve as the trusted expert with superintendents, leaders, CTE directors, counselors, and workforce partners, reinforcing FranklinCovey’s standing in the space.
Partner alongside Client Partners by joining live client interactions to lend credibility and domain authority in applicable conversations and debriefing to sharpen positioning and advance opportunities.
Help Client Partners connect district priorities (graduation outcomes, career readiness, work-based learning, CTE pathways, portrait-of-a-graduate goals) to FranklinCovey’s Life-Ready Leadership credential and related solutions.
Support sellers in navigating credential-specific questions, approval status, implementation requirements, and alignment to state and local frameworks and strategies.
Maintain accurate, timely records of efforts and field support activity in required systems.
Collaboration, Pod Partnership & Internal Enablement
Collaborate across territory pods and internal teams, including Client Partners, coaches, implementation, retention, product, and marketing, contributing credentialing and CTE expertise to ensure approvals translate into sellable, deliverable, and renewable solutions.
Share wins, state-specific intelligence, and field insights across the organization to scale impact and inform product, pricing, and go-to-market decisions.
Operating in Ambiguity & Driving Results
Operate effectively across different state policy environments, evolving workforce-readiness frameworks, and shifting internal strategy or offerings.
Independently diagnose, test solutions, and adjust where approval efforts are stalled, and field credibility gaps are limiting opportunities.
Create clarity for sellers and clients by turning complex regulatory and credentialing ambiguity into navigable pathways and next steps.
Model resilience, adaptability, and resourcefulness in pursuing long-cycle approval goals and navigating setbacks.
Stewardship, Culture & Personal Leadership
Act as a strong steward of FranklinCovey’s brand, reputation, values and ethical standards in every interaction.
Champion division priorities and ensure actions and communication align with sales strategy.
Demonstrate a learner’s mentality through ongoing training, self-development, and seeking feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years in education, education services, workforce development, CTE, or school/district/state-agency leadership
Preferred Skills & Experience
Direct experience with K–12 or high school education policy, CTE and workforce-readiness programs
Demonstrated experience navigating state-level approval, accreditation, standards-alignment, or credentialing processes — or comparable regulatory/policy environments.
Proven ability to build credibility and influence with senior district, high school, CTE, state-agency, and workforce stakeholders
Track record of advancing complex initiatives and influencing outcomes in ambiguous, multi-stakeholder, long-cycle environments
Strong consultative, facilitation, and storytelling skills in writing, virtually, and in person.
Comfort operating as an overlay partner — amplifying others’ results rather than carrying a personal quota
