About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
This position requires an ACTIVE DoD security clearance. Applicants who do not currently hold an active clearance will not be considered.
At PMAT, we work on mission-critical systems that support government and defense organizations by designing, building, and securing modern digital capabilities across hardware, cloud, data, and software environments. Our teams tackle complex engineering challenges where delivery matters more than theory, and innovation is driven by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose.
About the role: We are seeking a Senior Hardware & Production Engineer to support the development, integration, and production of advanced computing platforms, including hardware associated with the Minotaur program.
This role bridges hardware engineering and production, ensuring that ruggedized computing systems are designed, built, tested, and manufactured to meet demanding performance, reliability, and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities:
Lead the transition of hardware from development into next-generation, small-form-factor production
Ensure compliance with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles for ruggedized computing systems
Support the design and integration of high-performance computing hardware, including CPU/GPU systems, storage, networking, and peripheral interfaces
Develop production processes, test procedures, and acceptance criteria for computing systems
Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues across laboratory, production, and deployment environments
Perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) on failures identified during testing or production
Support environmental qualification, including thermal, vibration, shock, and electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing
Manage configuration control, technical data packages (TDPs), and engineering change orders (ECOs)
Collaborate with software, network, and systems engineering teams to ensure hardware compatibility and performance
Coordinate with technical stakeholders to support production quality, integration, and deployment readiness
