Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated Press Release Writer to join our team and produce high-quality, newsworthy press releases for the iGaming and gaming industry. This role is ideal for a writer with a strong understanding of news writing, public relations, and editorial storytelling who can turn complex information, company announcements, event developments, partnerships, and industry news into clear, compelling, and media-ready press releases.
You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to gather information, identify the strongest news angles, and produce accurate, engaging press releases that communicate key messages effectively and generate interest among journalists, industry publications, and relevant audiences.
The ideal candidate has excellent written English, strong editorial judgement, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to write in a professional, objective, and engaging style. A genuine interest in iGaming, sports betting, online gaming, technology, and the wider gaming industry is highly desirable.
Previous experience writing press releases, PR content, corporate communications, journalism, or news content is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Press Release Writing
Write clear, compelling, and publication-ready press releases for the iGaming, gaming, sports betting, and technology industries.
Develop strong news angles and compelling headlines based on the information provided.
Write engaging leads that communicate the most important news quickly and effectively.
Structure press releases according to professional PR and editorial best practices.
Ensure press releases clearly communicate the who, what, when, where, and why of each announcement.
Adapt writing style and messaging according to the subject matter, target audience, and intended media outlets.
Produce press releases covering company announcements and event announcements, as well as coverage of previous conference material.
Incorporate quotes from executives, partners, speakers, or other relevant stakeholders in a natural and compelling way.
Research & Editorial Development
Conduct independent research to understand the context behind each press release.
Identify relevant industry developments, trends, statistics, and background information that can strengthen a story.
Verify facts, names, titles, figures, dates, and other important details before publication.
Ask clear and relevant questions when information provided is incomplete or unclear.
Distinguish between genuinely newsworthy information and promotional messaging.
Ensure all content is accurate, credible, and suitable for external publication.
Stay informed about key developments and trends across the global iGaming, gaming, sports betting, and technology industries.
Events & Industry News
Write press releases related to SiGMA events, conferences, exhibitions.
Turn event announcements, speaker confirmations, partnerships, sponsorships, awards, and key milestones into compelling press releases.
Where required, attend industry events and gather information for press releases and news announcements.
Interview relevant stakeholders and turn interview insights and quotes into polished PR content.
Identify press release opportunities arising from event developments.
Work with internal teams to ensure event-related announcements are timely, accurate, and aligned with the wider communications strategy.
Collaboration & Workflow
Work closely with marketing, communications, editorial, events, and other internal teams to gather information and develop press releases.
Collaborate with stakeholders to source accurate information and strong quotes.
Manage multiple press release assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Respond efficiently to revisions and stakeholder feedback.
Maintain consistent editorial quality, tone, and formatting across all press releases.
Ensure press releases are delivered on schedule and ready for distribution or publication.
Required Qualifications
Excellent written and spoken English, at an advanced or native level.
Proven experience writing press releases, PR content, journalism, news content, corporate communications, or a related field.
Strong understanding of press release structure, news writing, and editorial best practices.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong editorial judgement and the ability to identify the strongest angle in a story.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality content.
Ability to research topics independently and turn complex information into clear, concise, and engaging copy.
Ability to write objectively and professionally while maintaining a compelling and newsworthy narrative.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a global team.
Genuine interest in iGaming, online gaming, sports betting, technology, or the wider gaming industry.
