Global Market / Trade Policy Advisor

We are seeking a Global Market / Trade Policy Advisor to provide expert insights on international trade policy, economic regulations, and geopolitical developments affecting commercial interests. This role is fully remote and freelance in nature, but requires deep familiarity with Spain's policy landscape and the EU regulatory framework.
Key responsibilities
- monitor, analyze and summarize trade policies, tariffs, sanctions, and economic regulations relevant to the clients operations.
- produce policy briefs, white papers, and strategic memos on trade and economic developments in the EU and Spain.
- assess the impact of regulatory changes (e.g., CBAM, FDI screening, state aid rules, digital services tax) on cross border trade and investment.
- track international economic relations and provide geopolitical risk assessments.
- provide scenario analysis and recommendations on trade compliance and market access strategies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in trade policy, economic analysis, international relations, or a related field.
- strong understanding of EU trade policy mechanisms (trade defense instruments, FTA provisions, WTO frameworks) and Spanish regulatory environment
- fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are a plus
- self-motivated and capable of delivering high-quality analysis independently in a remote setting
- established network within think tanks, relevant government agencies or trade advisory firms
- familiarity with EU external economic relations and supply chain policy dynamics
