About the Work
We're looking for experienced video editors to review and improve short-form and commercial video content.
You'll watch videos and assess how well they work from an editorial perspective — from the strength of the opening and pacing to the rhythm, sequencing, and overall flow. You'll document your reasoning clearly, pointing to specific moments and explaining what works, what doesn't, and why.
You'll also perform hands-on editing, making changes to cuts, pacing, sequencing, and other elements based on your editorial assessment.
Your written feedback and editing decisions will be used as part of an AI evaluation project, so we're looking for editors who can explain their creative and editorial decisions, not simply give a score.
What You'll Do
Review short-form and commercial videos to evaluate creative editing decisions and overall effectiveness.
Assess opening hooks, storytelling, pacing, cut density, rhythm, transitions, sequencing, and visual flow.
Identify specific strengths and weaknesses in an edit, including unnecessary cuts, dead air, awkward transitions, and ineffective payoffs.
Provide clear, actionable feedback with specific timestamps and explanations for why an edit works or needs improvement.
Compare editing approaches and explain how creative choices affect viewer engagement and the overall viewing experience.
Make or demonstrate editorial adjustments when required to illustrate a stronger editing approach.
Record review and evaluation sessions as required for AI training and project documentation.
What We're Looking For
Professional video editing experience, particularly in short-form content, social media, commercials, advertising, agency, or brand projects.
Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, the primary software used for the project.
A solid understanding of storytelling, pacing, sequencing, transitions, rhythm, and visual flow.
The ability to evaluate creative choices and clearly explain why an edit works or how it could be improved, both verbally and in writing.
Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written, for recording evaluations and providing clear feedback.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply consistent evaluation criteria across different videos.
A reel or portfolio showcasing relevant video editing work.
Willingness to work on a part-time, hourly basis with flexible hours.
Helpful but Not Required:
Motion graphics experience
Captioning/subtitling experience
Experience editing commercial or branded content
Experience working from client briefs and incorporating revision feedback
Engagement Details:
Hourly, contract-based engagement
Part-time and flexible hours
Ongoing project with potential for long-term work
Fully remote
Work could involve editing, reviewing, and recording sessions using DaVinci Resolve
Only applicants who submit a relevant portfolio or reel will be considered for the next stage
Technical Requirements:
Because you'll be working in DaVinci Resolve and may record your editing/review sessions while working, you will need a computer and internet connection capable of handling both tasks reliably.
Stable fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.)
100 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload recommended
Backup internet connection (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP)
At least 20 Mbps recommended
Computer capable of running DaVinci Resolve comfortably:
16 GB RAM minimum; 32 GB preferred
Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM; 8 GB+ preferred
Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or equivalent processor or better
512 GB SSD minimum; 1 TB preferred
Sufficient available storage for video files, project files, and recorded sessions
Quiet, conducive home workspace suitable for focused editing and review sessions
Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
Power backup/UPS recommended for locations that experience frequent power interruptions
How to Apply:
Please submit the following with your application:
Link to your portfolio showing relevant short-form, social media, commercial, or branded video editing work
Only applicants who provide a relevant portfolio will be considered for review.
