About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Thriveon is Minnesota’s leading IT provider, locally owned and operated since 2002. We deliver a managed IT service that combines Fractional CIO leadership, cybersecurity, and proactive IT management into one cohesive solution. Recognized on the Inc. 5000 and Channel Futures MSP 501, and repeatedly named one of the 100 Best Companies to Work in Minnesota, Thriveon is poised for significant growth.
The Role
Thriveon is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to build the top of our sales pipeline across Minnesota. This is a high-activity, outbound-first role: your job is to self-generate first-time appointments (FTAs) through your own outbound prospecting and set discovery meetings for our Account Executives. You’ll be the first point of contact for prospective clients, sit in on discovery meetings to learn consultative selling, and grow toward a full-cycle AE role over time.
Responsibilities
Self-generate 2 first-time appointments through outbound cold calling, email, LinkedIn, drop-ins, referrals, and networking — with cold calling as the core motion. Expect 80+ cold dials per day.
Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers.
Engage executive leadership to introduce Thriveon’s services.
Qualify opportunities and schedule discovery meetings for Account Executives.
Attend and support discovery meetings to learn Thriveon’s consultative sales process.
Maintain accurate activity tracking, pipeline updates, and reporting in HubSpot.
Meet and exceed daily/weekly activity metrics and FTA goals.
Requirements
1–3 years of B2B sales, business development, or outbound prospecting experience preferred.
A track record of high-volume cold calling — you can tell us your real numbers (dials/day, meetings set/week).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort initiating conversations with business owners and executives.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and coachable.
Experience using CRM tools to track activity and pipeline.
Desire to grow into a full-cycle Account Executive role over time.
Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
