About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Senior Caregiver (Lead DSP) to support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a DDD-licensed group home setting.
In this role, you will provide hands-on support with daily living skills, behavioral support, medication assistance, and community integration. As a Senior Caregiver, you will also help guide other staff on shift to ensure the home operates safely, consistently, and in compliance with DDD standards.
This is a working leadership role — you will actively support members while helping maintain structure, documentation, and quality of care.
If you are reliable, patient, and confident supporting adults with disabilities, this is an opportunity to grow into a leadership position within a supportive team environment.
Duties
Assist members with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and mobility
Support members in developing independent living skills
Provide behavioral redirection and follow Behavior Support Plans as needed
Administer medications according to physician orders and DDD policies (if certified)
Document daily notes, incidents, and required records accurately and on time
Monitor member health, safety, and well-being and report concerns promptly
Ensure proper staff-to-member ratios are maintained on shift
Help train and guide new staff members
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
Assist with transportation to appointments and community activities
Support meal planning and proper food handling procedures
Ensure compliance with DDD regulations and company policies
Experience & Qualifications
Experience working with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred
Experience in group homes, DDD services, behavioral health, or similar settings strongly preferred
Ability to assist with ADLs and provide hands-on support
Comfortable managing behaviors in a calm and professional manner
Medication administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to lift, transfer, and support members safely as required
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
✔ Reliable and consistent
✔ Patient and calm under pressure
✔ Comfortable guiding coworkers during shift
✔ Organized and detail-oriented
✔ Compassionate but firm
✔ Committed to maintaining a safe and structured home environment
Important Note
This is not a desk job.
This is a hands-on caregiving role with added responsibility to help maintain structure and accountability on shift.
