About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Build a career in B2B technology sales while helping organizations protect people at work.
Be Safe is planning to add a Sales Development Representative, with hiring anticipated in 2027. The start date is still to be confirmed; this is not an immediate-start opportunity.
Remote / primarily remote within Canada | Contract | 20 hours per week initially | Path to Account Manager
ABOUT BE SAFE
Be Safe is a Canadian safety technology company helping organizations protect employees who work alone, travel between sites or work in remote areas. Our mobile app and supervisor dashboard combine check-ins, location visibility, messaging and emergency escalation with 24/7 Canadian human monitoring. Satellite connectivity and compatible gas detection integrations support more demanding environments.
We serve organizations in energy, environmental services, transportation, public works and field services. Flexible pricing, no long-term contracts, and included setup, training and support make worker protection easier to put into practice.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Working directly with our COO, you will start conversations, follow up on inbound interest, qualify prospects and book relevant demonstrations. You will learn the sales process with support from the people building the business, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills and results develop.
This role suits an early-career applicant or career changer who communicates clearly, follows through and is comfortable picking up the phone. Previous account-management or lone-worker monitoring experience is not required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Research suitable organizations and contacts, then reach out by phone, email and professional networking.
• Follow up on inbound enquiries and reconnect with past demonstration attendees and prospects whose timing may have changed.
• Understand how prospects manage lone-worker safety, identify operational challenges and establish buying timelines.
• Book qualified discovery calls and demonstrations, confirm attendance and provide useful handover notes.
• Support follow-up after demonstrations and during trials, keeping next steps clear and bringing questions to the team.
• Keep Apollo CRM records accurate and use feedback from the COO to improve your outreach and results.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Clear, confident spoken and written English. French fluency is a strong asset, but is not required.
• Initiative, dependable follow-through and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Willingness to make outbound calls, ask thoughtful questions and stay constructive when prospects decline or do not respond.
• Comfort learning software and using email, virtual meetings and digital tools.
• Openness to coaching and the judgement to represent a safety service accurately.
Experience in sales, appointment setting, customer service or another role involving regular conversations and follow-up is helpful. B2B, SaaS, workplace safety or CRM experience is an asset, not a prerequisite.
COMPENSATION AND COMMITMENT
• Paid three-month contractor trial at 20 hours per week.
• CAD $1,500 monthly retainer, plus recurring commission.
• Commission applies for 12 months following each eligible customer's conversion to paid service, including opportunities you generate that another team member closes. Rates and account-attribution terms will be agreed before the engagement begins.
• A full-time commitment is expected after successful completion of the trial, with scope and compensation agreed before it begins.
At the three-month review, we will assess sales activity, opportunity quality, product knowledge and readiness for additional responsibility. Moving to full-time hours, progressing to Account Manager and any conversion to employment are separate decisions; progression depends on demonstrated capability, results and business needs.
YOUR DEVELOPMENT
You will have direct access to the COO, coaching and exposure to the full customer journey. As you demonstrate readiness, responsibilities may expand to demonstrations, onboarding, account relationships, retention and growth. Initial success will focus on consistent, targeted outreach, qualified meetings, useful discovery notes and reliable follow-up.
HOW TO APPLY
Please include your resume and a brief note explaining your interest in sales, an example of initiative or customer follow-through, and your availability for an initial 20-hour weekly commitment. Let us know whether you speak French and your potential start-date availability in 2027.
We are planning ahead for this role and will confirm hiring timelines as plans develop.
