Machinist (Entry/Mid-Level)

Role Summary
Specter Aerospace is seeking an Entry/Mid-level machinist to produce components for hypersonic flight vehicles and ground testing. They will machine a high-mix, low-volume of parts in a prototyping environment. The individual will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule

Specter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. With offices in Boston and Peabody, MA, Specter leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. Our Machinist will be based in our Peabody office. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production.
Role Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate various CNC machines (Haas Experience preferred)
as well as experience with manual milling/turning
Inspect finished components to ensure they meet tolerance requirements
Work with engineering teams to advise on design for manufacture
Select appropriate fixtures and tooling for parts
Assist with equipment maintenance and workplace housekeeping
Work with both safety and efficiency in mind
Required Qualifications
High School or Vocational School Diploma or equivalent job experience
1+ years of experience working with both manual and CNC mills and lathes
Understanding of calculations for feeds, speeds, and tool selection
Comfort with project autonomy and fast-paced, quick-turn work environments
Proficiency in CAM software and working from engineering drawings
Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a SECRET level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CAD/CAM software (Solidworks / HSMWorks CAM/Featurecam preferred)
Familiarity with Haas controls preferred
Experience with precision measuring equipment
