About the Role
We are looking for energetic, reliable, and hardworking team members to join our small hospitality team at Alps View Hotel in Hakuba. This is a combined front-of-house, kitchen assistant, and cleaner role supporting our popular summer camps and school group programs from June through October.
You will play a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping our hotel running smoothly, ensuring our international guests (mainly children and students on camps and school groups) enjoy a clean, comfortable, and well-presented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Support & Dishwashing
Operate commercial dishwashers and hand-wash items as needed
Keep the kitchen, servery, and food preparation areas clean and tidy
Assist with basic food prep and plating when required
Empty bins and maintain kitchen hygiene standards
Front of House & General Cleaning
Clean and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily
Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize all areas to a high standard
Change bed linen and towels according to schedule
Clean and maintain public spaces, dining areas, and outdoor entrances
General Hotel Support
Help set up and reset dining areas for meals
Assist with laundry (washing, drying, folding)
Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly
Support the team during busy meal times and group arrivals/departures
Requirements
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work efficiently and stay on your feet for long periods
Reliability and attention to detail (especially with cleaning standards)
Comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit team
Basic English communication skills (Japanese is a big advantage but not essential)
Previous experience in hospitality, cleaning, or kitchen roles is preferred but not required — we will train the right person
Must be physically fit and able to lift and move moderate loads
Available for the full season (June to October) – preference given to those who can commit to the entire period
