We are seeking an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our practice. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced business immigration professional who can assume substantial responsibility for case preparation and day-to-day case management under attorney supervision.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with a range of business immigration matters, including:
H-1B petitions and related filings
PERM labor certification matters
I-140 employment-based immigrant petitions
Employment-based adjustment of status, including Forms I-485, I-765, and I-131
L-1A and L-1B petitions
TN applications and petitions
E-1 treaty trader and E-2 treaty investor matters
Requests for Evidence and other USCIS correspondence
Preparation of immigration forms, petition letters, supporting documentation, and filing packages
Collection and review of information and documentation from corporate and individual clients
Direct client communication regarding documentation, deadlines, and case progress
Case management, including monitoring deadlines, status expirations, and other critical dates
Depending upon the candidate's background and interests, the position may also include work on EB-5 immigrant investor matters.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of substantial, recent business immigration experience; 5+ years strongly preferred
Significant hands-on experience with H-1B and PERM matters
Experience with I-140 petitions and employment-based adjustment of status
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience communicating professionally and directly with corporate and individual clients
Ability to move routine case preparation forward independently under attorney supervision and recognize issues requiring attorney attention
Experience with L-1, TN, and E-1/E-2 matters strongly preferred
EB-5 experience and familiarity with INSZoom or comparable immigration case-management software are desirable but not required
Associate or bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate, preferred. Equivalent combinations of relevant education, paralegal training, and substantial business immigration experience will be considered.
Work Environment
This position may be performed fully remotely within the United States. Applicants must currently reside within the Pacific or Mountain time zones; this is a mandatory qualification. Employees are required to maintain a regular full-time schedule aligned with the firm's Pacific Time business hours, generally beginning between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
The firm maintains offices in San Francisco's Financial District, with fully equipped workstations available for employees who prefer an in-office or hybrid arrangement.
We are a small, established immigration practice that values professionalism, careful and accurate work, responsiveness, sound judgment, collegiality, and personal responsibility. The position offers an experienced immigration professional the opportunity to work directly with attorneys and assume meaningful responsibility for sophisticated business immigration matters.

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending upon experience and qualifications.
Benefits include 401(k) with employer matching; employer contribution toward Kaiser HMO medical coverage; paid vacation and personal leave; paid firm holidays; full-time remote work flexibility; and a pre-tax BART commuter benefit for employees commuting to our San Francisco office.
