About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Olive is an AI-powered plant care and community app that helps everyday plant owners keep their plants alive, build confidence, and connect with local plant shops. We recently completed the gBETA startup accelerator, in partnership with Meta, and we are now scaling our team and product.
Our core feature, the Dynamic Care Guide, allows users to submit a weekly photo of their plant along with brief observations, such as soil moisture and leaf condition. Olive analyzes this input to generate an updated, personalized care guide as the plant grows and changes.
We are looking for a Social Media Intern who is creative, resourceful, and comfortable working with a degree of independence. An interest in plants is a plus, as it will help inform a genuine understanding of our audience. This is a fully remote position.
Role Summary:
As our Social Media Intern, you'll be a key part of Olive's content engine — turning weekly briefs into short-form videos that reach current and future plant owners across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. Success in this role looks like consistent, on-brand content that hits our posting cadence and shows measurable growth in engagement over the course of the internship. You'll work closely with our marketing and design teams, giving you visibility into how a growing startup builds its brand from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
Edit and produce short-form videos based on weekly briefs
Write concise, engaging scripts tailored for short-form video platforms
Create eye-catching thumbnails and assist with content posting
Post content at a minimum frequency of four times per week
Track and report on video analytics to measure performance
Collaborate with the team to ensure messaging aligns with brand goals
Qualifications:
Prior experience with video editing software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar)
Strong understanding of short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
Ability to distill longer content into engaging short-form clips
Ability to consistently produce and deliver content on a weekly cadence
Creative, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
Strong organizational and time management skills
Schedule:
Part-time. Fully remote, with flexible hours coordinated around school or other commitments.
Program Structure:
This is an unpaid, 3-month internship. At the end of the program, based on deliverables and project work, there is a potential path to a paid, full-time role on the team. This is a genuine opportunity, not a guarantee, and is contingent on performance and business need at the time.
To Apply:
Please submit a resume that includes a portfolio link or links to your social media work — we want to be able to see examples of what you've created directly from your resume.
