Aurora Dairies are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Simpson, located 40 minutes from Colac in South West Victoria.
The farm is approximately 265ha effective area, currently milking 550 Friesian cows, through a 50 bail rotary shed with ACR’s and auto teat spray. GEA Dairy Plan is used for herd recording and the farm is predominantly pasture based with grain fed in the dairy. This farm is 80% Autumn and 20% Spring calving starting in March and late August.

This role will include tasks the areas of:
Supporting the farm manager as second in charge.
Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
Herd management and nutrition, including calving, hospital herd care, AI/mating planning, dairy shed work and more.
Irrigation and pasture management.
Supervising staff.
Machinery operation.
Repairs and maintenance.
The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:
Extensive dairy industry experience is required for this management role.
Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired.
