About us
FLS Group is an international logistics and freight forwarding company with over 700 employees in 15 countries across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. As we grow our Italian operations, we are looking for a sharp, people-oriented Billing & Credit Collection Executive to join our Milan Finance team. This person will own the full cycle from shipment to cash.
The role
You will make sure every shipment is invoiced accurately and on time, and that customers pay on time. You are the link between operations, sales and our customers on anything to do with billing and payments. Your goal is simple: keep receivables low and the overdue book clean at all times.
What you’ll do
Issue accurate, timely invoices for air, ocean and road freight shipments, including accessorials, disbursements and re-billing of third-party costs
Work with operations to close jobs promptly and make sure every revenue line is billed (no unbilled or leaked revenue)
Own a customer portfolio for collections: reminders, phone follow-up, payment plans and escalation
Manage the aged debtors report weekly and drive down DSO and overdue balances
Resolve billing disputes and credit notes quickly with operations and sales
Monitor customer credit limits, flag risk early and support new account credit checks
Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments
Prepare month-end AR reporting, bad debt provision inputs and collection forecasts
Manage electronic invoicing via SDI (fatturazione elettronica) and ensure compliance with Italian billing rules
What we’re looking for
3+ years in billing, credit control or accounts receivable, ideally in freight forwarding, logistics or shipping
CargoWise One experience is highly preferred (billing, job costing, AR modules)
Good understanding of freight forwarding documents and charges (Incoterms, B/L, AWB, local charges, D&D)
Fluent Italian and good business English, written and spoken. Our group works across many countries
Strong Excel skills; familiarity with SDI e-invoicing
Diploma or degree in economics, accounting or a related field
The personality we want
Firm but friendly: you can chase a payment and keep the customer relationship strong
Persistent and organised: you don’t let an overdue invoice slip
Confident on the phone and comfortable with difficult conversations
Detail-minded, with a “get it right first time” mindset on invoicing
A team player who works well with operations and sales
What we offer
Permanent full-time contract, CCNL Logistica, Trasporto Merci e Spedizione, Level 5, with progression to Level 4 after the probation period
Gross annual salary (RAL) of €30,000–€38,000, depending on experience
Meal vouchers (buoni pasto) and other welfare benefits
An international environment with exposure to a global finance team and an ongoing finance transformation programme
