Job Description: Designs, develops, and validates platform hardware solutions for Intel validation and product development platforms. Works with platform architects and senior hardware engineers to translate system-level requirements into schematic designs, PCB implementations, and electrical solutions.
Responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of printed circuit boards (PCB), subsystems, and supporting hardware used in Intel platforms. Participates in the complete product development cycle from concept definition, schematic capture, layout support, board bring-up, validation, and debug.
Key responsibilities include:
• Perform schematic capture and board-level design implementation for complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Develop and review component selections, reference designs, and platform hardware solutions based on system requirements.
• Support PCB stack-up definition, component placement reviews, and routing constraint implementation.
• Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to review board layouts and ensure compliance with electrical design requirements.
• Participate in high-speed interface design reviews including DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and other high-speed communication interfaces.
• Support Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis activities and implement design recommendations provided by senior engineers.
• Assist in developing and maintaining PCB routing guidelines and electrical design documentation.
• Perform board bring-up, validation, electrical characterization, and debugging activities using standard laboratory equipment.
• Investigate and resolve hardware-related issues through systematic root-cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with platform architects, hardware engineers, firmware engineers, validation engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful platform implementation.
• Generate technical documentation including schematics, design specifications, validation reports, and debug findings.
• Support continuous improvement of hardware design methodologies, validation processes, and design practices.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multi-site environment.
• Self-motivated with a passion for hardware design and debug.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and design methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
