About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Lead with strong Java and cloud engineering expertise to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, data-driven solutions. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide engineering best practices, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs and distributed systems.
Drive technical decisions and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
Lead the development of containerized microservices and cloud-based solutions.
Champion automated testing, code quality, and high test coverage through unit, integration, and performance testing.
Investigate and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support continuous service improvement.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams to deliver business requirements.
Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, risk management, and technical roadmaps.
Support CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.
Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Microservices.
Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Experience building scalable, containerized microservices.
Proven experience with automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices.
Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
Experience working with cloud platforms and data processing solutions.
Experience with GCP Dataflow and Dataform (Composer knowledge is an advantage).
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
Experience with ETL tools or data migration projects.
Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and data engineering practices.
Experience working in large-scale distributed environments.
Exposure to performance tuning and system optimisation.
Leadership Skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
Experience managing project scope, priorities, estimates, and delivery timelines.
Ability to guide teams in Agile delivery practices.
