Build cloud platforms. Engineer what’s next. Enable enterprise growth.
Cloud platforms are at the heart of how businesses modernize their infrastructure, scale digital services and deliver reliable technology experiences. At JazzWorld, our enterprise cloud capabilities help customers access the infrastructure and platforms they need to support their business-critical workloads.
As Lead – Cloud Platform Engineering & Provisioning, you will shape how our hosted cloud platform is designed, enhanced and scaled. You will lead platform engineering, deliver major infrastructure upgrades and introduce new services, while ensuring customer workloads are provisioned efficiently and accepted against defined capacity and availability requirements.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can strengthen platform architecture, deliver complex changes in live production environments and lead high-performing engineering and provisioning teams. You will work closely with Cloud Platform Operations and cross-functional stakeholders to build a reliable, scalable platform that supports evolving customer needs.
What you’ll own
Drive platform engineering and design: Own reference architectures and build standards across compute, storage, virtualisation, data protection and platform networking, ensuring the platform evolves against consistent technical and security requirements.
Lead platform upgrades and expansion: Plan and deliver major virtualisation upgrades, infrastructure expansion, migrations and new-site initiatives, with robust testing, risk assessment, cutover and rollback plans.
Introduce new cloud services: Take new platform capabilities from design and proof of concept through testing, operational readiness and handover, ensuring runbooks, monitoring, backup and support arrangements are in place before release.
Own customer provisioning and onboarding: Lead end-to-end tenant provisioning and workload onboarding, meeting agreed turnaround commitments and ensuring customers are technically ready for go-live.
Protect platform capacity and performance: Assess incoming workloads, forecast compute, memory, storage and backup requirements, and accept or defer workloads based on available capacity and agreed thresholds.
Strengthen platform reliability through engineering: Review major technical changes, provide deep technical expertise on complex platform issues when required, and lead engineering remediation following root-cause analysis in partnership with Platform Operations.
Enable enterprise solutions: Act as the technical design authority for hosted cloud propositions, supporting solution engineering and pre-sales teams in assessing platform feasibility for complex customer requirements.
Lead technical partners and vendors: Coordinate OEM and partner professional services for upgrades, migrations and complex platform initiatives, ensuring technical delivery aligns with approved designs.
Build a strong engineering and provisioning team: Lead, coach and develop the platform engineering and customer provisioning teams, strengthen technical capabilities, and establish clear accountability for delivery and turnaround times.
Collaborate across the business: Work with Cloud Platform Operations, Systems Integration, Technical Support & Service Assurance, cybersecurity, solution engineering, Tech PMO and Supply Chain to enable effective delivery and transition of platform services.
What success looks like
Documented platform reference architectures and build standards that guide all major infrastructure changes.
Major platform upgrades, migrations and capacity expansions delivered with effective risk controls and without customer-impacting downtime.
Customer provisioning and onboarding turnaround times measured, reported and consistently meeting agreed business commitments.
All customer workloads assessed against capacity requirements, with no workloads accepted outside agreed thresholds.
New cloud services transitioned into operations only when operational readiness, documentation, monitoring, backup and support arrangements are complete.
Clean customer go-lives and handovers to Platform Operations, with no provisioning backlog retained by the team.
Improved capacity forecasting and timely identification of infrastructure constraints, enabling planned and evidence-based expansion.
A technically capable engineering and provisioning team with clear accountability, stronger skills and reduced dependency on individual resources.
Requirements
You may be a strong fit if you:
Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Bring 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience with enterprise virtualisation or private cloud platforms supporting production workloads.
Have experience working with multi-tenant cloud or hosting platforms operating against defined availability commitments.
Have successfully planned and delivered major platform upgrades, infrastructure expansions or migrations in live production environments, including structured testing, risk assessment and rollback.
Understand customer onboarding and provisioning on shared platforms, including turnaround commitments and capacity-based workload acceptance.
Bring experience leading engineering teams and managing provisioning or delivery queues alongside planned technical change.
Have strong expertise in VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, Cloud Director and NSX, alongside software-defined data centre technologies. Experience with major version migrations is an advantage.
Understand enterprise compute, Linux administration, storage, backup and replication, disaster recovery, and platform networking, including tenant isolation, segmentation, VPNs and hybrid cloud connectivity.
Have exposure to container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift, public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and hybrid cloud environments. These are advantages where applicable.
Understand multi-tenancy, tenant isolation, enterprise identity and access management, logging, provisioning automation, self-service portals and capacity modelling.
Can assess the platform impact of complex customer workloads, forecast infrastructure requirements and use data to guide technical decisions.
Bring experience working with regulated customer environments, particularly financial services, and understand audit requirements, SLAs and contractual availability commitments.
Hold relevant technical certifications, such as VMware VCP/VCAP, Red Hat OpenShift, storage and backup vendor certifications, or ITIL. Equivalent demonstrated experience will also be considered.
Are comfortable delivering change in live production environments, working across teams, coordinating technical partners and supporting planned change windows that may fall outside regular office hours.
