Permanent Full Desk Legal Recruiter – North Carolina
Location: Fully remote, but must reside in North Carolina to be available for networking events and client meetings.
Experience: Must have permanent legal staffing/recruiting experience, ideally with full-desk experience.
Role: This is a permanent/direct hire legal staffing position combining recruiting and business development. The practice focuses on legal support professionals - not attorneys, including paralegals, legal assistants, and similar legal support positions.
Ideal background: First preference is someone with agency staffing experience, particularly direct-hire/permanent staffing. Legal recruiting experience is highly desirable because the person needs to understand the legal market and terminology. We’ve also had success with people who came directly from the corporate/legal field, provided they have the right recruiting and relationship-building capabilities. Recruiting strength is the most important component.The person should be comfortable developing relationships and networking within the legal community. That could include attending bar association events, legal-industry functions and occasionally participating in panels or other networking opportunities.
Business development: This is not a recruiter-only position. The individual will recruit candidates while also developing and managing client relationships within their market/territory.
Schedule: Fully remote. Typical hours are approximately 9:00–5:00, with flexibility.
Travel/networking: Some North Carolina travel associated with networking and industry events. It is not heavy or constant travel; approximately 3–4 events/trips per year, with the team rotating coverage. Q4 can be particularly active because of legal-industry galas and events.
Compensation: Approximately $50K–$60K base/draw structure. The permanent team operates on a draw tied to salary. Once the individual clears their quarterly draw, commissions are uncapped. Strong production creates significant upside—for context, at roughly $300K in annual billings, commission earnings can approach $100K.
