JOB PURPOSE
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide specialized technical guidance for the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) being executed for a large-scale Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Facility. The consultant will support process review, technology validation, optimization of treatment schemes, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and customer engagement activities with a focus on battery manufacturing wastewater and NMP-containing streams.
The role will ensure that the proposed treatment systems meet performance guarantees, regulatory requirements, operational reliability standards, and project objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process & Design Review
Review Process Design Basis, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass balances, and engineering documents.
Validate process selection and treatment philosophy for battery manufacturing effluent streams.
Recommend process optimization, risk mitigation, and performance improvement measures.
Review equipment sizing, hydraulic loading, oxidation systems, biological treatment, sludge management, and tertiary treatment systems.
Support design validation of NMP wastewater treatment and advanced oxidation systems.
Technical Advisory
Provide technical guidance during detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and plant stabilization.
Evaluate complex wastewater characteristics and recommend suitable treatment strategies.
Develop troubleshooting procedures and corrective action plans for critical process upsets.
Optimize treatment processes to achieve treated water quality standards and operational efficiency.
Commissioning Support
Provide pre-commissioning and commissioning support.
Review commissioning procedures and startup plans.
Analyze operational performance data and recommend process adjustments.
Support achievement of performance guarantees during trial runs and plant stabilization.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Participate in technical discussions with Reliance and other project stakeholders.
Present technical evaluations, recommendations, and performance improvement initiatives.
Resolve customer technical concerns and process-related queries.
Represent WABAG as the Subject Matter Expert during key project reviews.
Knowledge Transfer
Conduct technical workshops and training programs for engineering, commissioning, and operations teams.
Develop process manuals, troubleshooting guides, and operational recommendations.
Share industry best practices in battery manufacturing and advanced wastewater treatment.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Strong expertise in Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing wastewater treatment.
Practical experience in NMP Oxidation Process and treatment technologies.
Proven experience with Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP), UV/H₂O₂, Fenton, Chemical Oxidation, and related systems.
Strong understanding of industrial wastewater characterization and treatability studies.
Experience in pilot plant evaluation, process optimization, and technology commercialization.
Ability to provide practical, site-oriented solutions during commissioning and operations.
Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
Experience in EPC and industrial wastewater projects is preferred.
