HOSPITALITY + COMMERCIAL INTERIORS
We are looking for a talented and technically strong Senior Job Captain – Interior Design to join our Interior Design Studio.
We are seeking someone with 5–7+ years of professional experience who is highly proficient in Revit and CAD and has hands-on experience developing and coordinating comprehensive Design Development and Construction Document packages including millwork detailing for high-end hospitality and commercial interiors.
Our projects include restaurants, hotels, multifamily amenity spaces, clubhouses, lounges, and other commercial and lifestyle environments.
What You'll Do
Lead and produce Design Development and Construction Documentation for interior projects.
Develop detailed plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, finish plans, millwork, and interior construction details.
Coordinate drawings with architectural, MEP, lighting, kitchen, AV, and specialty consultants.
Translate design concepts and material selections into technically sound and constructible solutions.
Apply a strong understanding of interior materials, detailing, durability, maintenance, and commercial performance requirements.
Participate in Construction Administration, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, substitutions, field coordination, and punch walks.
Work directly with contractors, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers to resolve technical and field conditions.
Support project managers and design leadership in maintaining quality, schedules, and design intent.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
What We're Looking For
5–7+ years of professional interior design / interior architecture experience.
Strong portfolio of high-end hospitality and commercial interiors, particularly restaurants, hotels, and multifamily amenity spaces.
Demonstrated experience producing and coordinating complete CD sets.
Advanced proficiency in Revit is essential.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Strong knowledge of interior construction, millwork, detailing, finishes, and material applications.
Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility, and fire/life-safety requirements as they relate to interiors.
Hands-on Construction Administration experience.
Strong coordination, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced design studio environment.
This Role Is Especially Suited For You If...
You enjoy the technical side of interior design as much as the creative side.
You can move comfortably between Revit documentation, interior detailing, material selections, consultant coordination, shop drawing review, and field conditions—while understanding the design intent behind every decision.
You know that a beautiful hospitality environment is only successful when it is also well detailed, coordinated, durable, and buildable.
Software
Required: Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
Preferred: Adobe Creative Suite and rendering/visualization software
Education
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field preferred. NCIDQ and/or LEED accreditation is a plus.
Portfolio Requirement
Please submit a portfolio with your application demonstrating both design and technical capabilities. We are particularly interested in seeing examples of construction documentation, interior detailing, millwork, and built hospitality/commercial projects in addition to finished design imagery.
Please note: This position is focused on interior architecture, technical design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Candidates whose experience is primarily FF&E selection, procurement, or styling without significant technical documentation experience may not be the right fit for this role.
