Job Description
Senior Vice President, POM Product Management
We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Product Management. This role is located in Pune, India.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways
Product strategy: define and execute the product strategy for enterprise data capabilities, aligning the roadmap to DSS priorities, platform needs, business outcomes, and the firm's broader data and AI strategy.
Authoritative data masters: own the product roadmap for increasing enterprise consumption of authoritative data masters, including Unified Client Master, Unified Product Master, Security Master, and related reference-data capabilities.
Migration and adoption: partner with platforms and hubs to identify where local, fragmented, or duplicative data sources remain in use, and develop practical migration and adoption plans toward authoritative enterprise masters.
Requirements and delivery: convert platform adoption barriers into prioritized product requirements, backlogs, milestones, ownership, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and measurable delivery outcomes, using Agile/SAFe practices including PI planning.
Resiliency through modernization: identify product priorities that strengthen resilience, reduce dependency on legacy data infrastructure, simplify integration patterns, and improve the reliability of foundational data services.
Data quality: define product capabilities that improve data-quality issue detection, triage, remediation, feedback loops, and accountability for data at its source.
Governance: embed ownership, lineage, metadata, data-quality standards, permissible-use expectations, and regulatory requirements into product design and delivery.
Accessibility through Data Mesh: make governed enterprise data easier to register, certify, discover, access, and reuse across reporting, analytics, business applications, and AI-enabled solutions.
Commercial value through Data Products: identify reusable data-product opportunities, validate demand, define target consumers, connect products to measurable use cases, and track adoption and realized benefits.
Consumption experience: shape capabilities such as APIs, events, self-service onboarding, reusable integration patterns, reference implementations, and implementation guidance that make authoritative data easier for platforms to consume.
Product measures: define and track measures at the platform and application level, including master-data consumption, adoption progress, data-product usage, implementation milestones, service performance, and business outcomes.
Cross-functional alignment: partner across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data Operations, Governance, Risk, Finance, and business teams to align investment, sequencing, delivery capacity, controls, and adoption commitments.
Full product lifecycle: lead from discovery and prioritization through delivery, release, adoption, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
Executive communication: communicate strategy, progress, value, risks, dependencies, and decisions through concise, data-driven materials for senior business and technology stakeholders.
Trusted advisor and global partner: act as a senior product leader who influences platforms and hubs that consume DSS capabilities without directly owning their engineering resources, and connects DSS product teams in Pune with stakeholders across regions and time zones.
Building the team: over time, hire, coach, and lead Product Owners and Product Managers, and grow the DSS product capability in Pune, while continuing to own key products yourself.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's/MBA a plus.
Experience: 10+ years of product management, data-product, platform-product, or related technology-delivery experience.
Enterprise delivery: experience managing product roadmaps and end-to-end delivery in a complex enterprise environment.
Enterprise data depth: strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, master/reference data, APIs, governance, and data quality.
Influence and execution: demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional execution, including across geographies.
AI fluency: credible understanding of how modern AI/GenAI depends on governed, high-quality data, and hands-on use of AI tools to accelerate product work.
Hands-on mindset: recent, direct experience writing requirements, owning backlogs, and working day to day with engineers and data teams; comfortable being an individual contributor at a senior level.
Leadership readiness: experience mentoring or leading product practitioners, or clear readiness to do so, with the judgment to balance personal delivery with developing others.
Preferred Qualifications
Financial services or other regulated-industry experience.
Experience with client, product, or security master data and reference-data programs.
Experience with Data Mesh, data-product operating models, data catalogs, or data contracts.
Familiarity with regulatory expectations for data, such as BCBS 239, data privacy, and data residency.
Experience moving from a senior individual-contributor role into people leadership, or building a product team from a small base.
Experience working in or with a global capability centre in India.
