Maternal Child Educator/Lactation Consultant
Full Time Flex - 72 hours/pay
8-hour shifts with some 12-hour options
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM
Some rotation to evenings and weekend commitment required

ChristianaCare is seeking a Maternal Child Educator/Lactation Consultant for our Women’s & Children’s Hospital located on our Newark Campus. The Maternal Child Educators provide all families preventative care services (inpatient and outpatient lactation support and parenting education) with a healthcare equity approach. Additionally, the MCE provides ongoing staff development via in-person and web-based education to all including nurses and providers. This position provides a great opportunity to combine your love of clinical nursing with education.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire
Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware required
Passion to support breast/chest and human milk feeding required
BLS certification required
International Board-Certification Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification is required within one year of hire
Childbirth educator certification from a certifying body recognized by ChristianaCare within 2 years of hire required
Two years of Acute Care Maternal Child Health experience required
Clinical experience/competency in Women’s & Children’s health with previous educational roles in the clinical setting is strongly preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $38.98 - $62.38
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
