About The Company
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) works to support economic growth and job creation across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Through the Virginia Talent Accelerator, VEDP helps companies establish or expand operations in Virginia by supporting their talent acquisition efforts. The team works on multiple projects with leading companies as they introduce new technologies and build their workforces at Virginia locations. This work connects employers with talent through focused recruitment, outreach, and candidate engagement.
About The Role
VEDP is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist to help deliver recruitment support for client projects. In this role, you will contribute to talent attraction efforts, develop and engage diverse candidate networks, and support hiring for both difficult-to-fill and high-volume positions. You will collaborate with clients, colleagues, vendors, and community partners to keep recruitment activities moving effectively and provide a positive candidate experience.
The successful candidate is proactive, adaptable, professional, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and close attention to detail are essential, as the role involves coordinating job postings, tracking recruitment activity, engaging candidates, and maintaining alignment with client needs.
Qualifications
At least three years of talent acquisition experience in a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), agency, or corporate setting.
Experience supporting recruitment for start-ups, expansions, or high-volume hiring environments is preferred; manufacturing recruitment experience is also preferred.
Familiarity with job boards and recruitment technologies, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, applicant tracking systems, and comparable tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, candidates, vendors, and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple project tasks and deadlines.
Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when working with confidential information.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, while adapting to changing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
A valid Virginia driver's license and authorization to work in the United States are required. VEDP does not provide employment sponsorship and uses E-Verify.
Responsibilities
Format, review, and post job opportunities on career boards and other channels in accordance with client requirements and guidelines.
Track posting locations, expiration dates, corrections, issues, and follow-up actions to ensure postings remain accurate and current.
Source candidates for high-volume and difficult-to-fill roles using appropriate recruitment channels and techniques.
Review resumes and applications and conduct initial phone or virtual screenings as needed.
Recommend improvements to job descriptions and titles, and validate compensation benchmarks.
Identify ways to strengthen the candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Maintain timely client communication and participate in project meetings to align on current deliverables and anticipated hiring needs.
Support hiring fairs and recruitment events, including logistics, registration, sharing position information, and engaging directly with candidates.
Build and support outreach relationships with colleges, universities, community-based talent partners, and transitioning military organizations.
Coordinate with recruitment vendors and partners to address client and team needs.
Contribute to standard operating procedures and training materials, and proactively help troubleshoot recruitment challenges.
Benefits
This is a hybrid position based in VEDP’s Richmond office. Employees are required to work in the office at least three days per week. The stated salary range is $70,000–$80,000 per year. The application deadline is November 6, 2026. Candidates must apply through the VEDP website.
