A Brief Overview
Independently uses deep industry experience along with diverse product knowledge to understand, diagnose, communicate and implement timely decisions on extremely complicated or ambiguous technical problems. A full stack engineer with deep proficiency in general programming languages, frameworks and deployment methodologies who creates API-based applications from concept to finished product with a cloud-first emphasis. Collaborates with technical teams to build and deploy effective and efficient applications with well-tested code.
What you will do
Technical leader for a product and works on the most complex issues.
Leads technical design, development, testing, deployments and support of API-based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
Provides team members with industry and/or product knowledge.
Mentors and coaches teammates.
Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported products.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) and/or LOMA certification preferred.
10+ Years of software development experience.
8+ Years of insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
Experience with a variety of database technologies.
Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud provider preferred.
Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments.
Proficiency in a variety of general programming languages.
Proficiency in Test-Driven Development.
Proficiency in containerization.
Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information.
Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or difficult information.
JavaScript/Java/Groovy/Go/C#/.Net/Python/NodeJS, Docker/Kubernetes, relational/NoSQL database, Terraform/Ansible, Shell preferred.
