Role Overview
As a Sterile Processing Assistant, you'll ensure the seamless flow of supplies, instruments, and equipment within our operating rooms and sterile processing areas. Your work supports surgeons, nurses, and technicians by maintaining a well-organized and efficient environment, directly contributing to the success of surgical procedures and patient safety.

What You Will Do
Retrieve soiled instruments, equipment, and carts from clinical departments at regular intervals, following appropriate standards.
Distribute and inventory supplies to the operating room (OR) and within the Sterile Processing Department.
Answer phones and assist callers in obtaining needed supplies and/or instruments.
Pull instruments and deliver case carts to the OR or L&D.
Unload cart washers and dry items before placing them on carts for assembly.
Move equipment and carts to maintain workflow and clear traffic paths.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalency OR 1 year of applicable job-specific experience.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and move equipment throughout the department.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in instrument and supply management.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Reliable attendance and punctuality with ability to follow established protocols and safety standards.
Effective communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively in a patient-centered environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a healthcare setting, sterile processing, or surgical environment.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
Knowledge of infection control and sterilization principles.
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) or willingness to pursue certification.
