Title and Summary
Senior Specialist, Product Experience Design
The Services New Product Development team within Mastercard Foundry drives innovation in B2B and B2B2C digital products, leveraging Mastercard data and data modeling capabilities to develop, validate, and de-risk user-centric solutions for complex business challenges. We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who is passionate about joining our rapidly growing, highly innovative New Product Development team to deliver innovative, user-centered product experience solutions for net-new data products.
You will collaborate within a cross-functional team, including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts. Together, you will contribute to the rapid iteration of B2B and B2B2C data product concepts, prototypes, and MVPs (Minimum Viable Products), de-risking solutions by testing and validating desirability, usability, and feasibility. Each design and development cycle follows a rapid design-test-redesign process, ensuring continuous user feedback and optimization within business and technical constraints. Our products are delivered through web and mobile applications and voice interfaces, including dashboards with widgets, chatbots, content management systems, and more, all in service of solving complex business challenges encountered by our customers.
Role
• Design Proofs of Concept and Minimum Viable Data Products (MVPs) using human-centered design principles and rapid prototyping methods, including Lean UX and Design Thinking.
• Help define the next generation of data and data-driven products and, through doing so, help shape the future of Mastercard and its growth.
• Help de-risk net-new data product concepts by conducting user research or assisting with technical experiments to validate desirability, usability, and feasibility.
• Design product solutions that present complex data in a meaningful and digestible way.
• Participate in Design Thinking workshops, collaborating cross-functionally with industry verticals, regional leads, and end users to create optimal digital data products.
• Work on future-state conceptual designs, driving experimentation that improves the overall quality of product design.
• Work closely with key partners in Brand and Marketing to drive delightful and highly usable transactional experiences.
• Work closely with our technology teams, leveraging modern presentation-layer practices such as adaptive and responsive web design and current and forward-thinking technologies.
• Explore the “art of the possible.”
• Ensure designs appropriately balance business objectives and user engagement in close partnership with product managers.
• Liaise with regional and country teams to ensure designs reflect the diverse needs of a global user base.
All About You
• Passionate about the possibilities of data-driven experiences.
• Proven experience working within a world-class customer experience team.
• Experience working and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• An empathetic champion of the user.
• Demonstrable knowledge of usability best practices.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Design for Interactive Media, or equivalent experience.
• Strong portfolio covering multiple form factors, including desktop, tablet, mobile, wearable, and others.
• Demonstrable commitment to learning, with a strong desire to discover and evaluate new concepts and technologies that maximize design possibilities.
Interaction Design
• Experience developing user personas and user journeys to inform product design decisions.
• Experience in rapid prototyping, including Lean UX and Design Thinking.
• Experience creating compelling, usable, and visually engaging mockups and prototypes.
