SAP/non-SAP integrations
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure, and support SAP PO/PI integration interfaces.
Develop integration scenarios connecting SAP and non-SAP applications.
Work with Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) for interfaces, mappings, and integration design objects. [learning.sap.com]
Configure integration scenarios and message exchange using Integration Directory (ID). [learning.sap.com]
Develop and maintain message mappings and interface mappings.
Configure and support communication channels and adapters.
Monitor message processing and troubleshoot integration failures.
Perform root-cause analysis and resolve interface-related production issues.
Work with functional, ABAP, Basis, and external application teams to deliver end-to-end integrations.
Prepare technical design documents and interface documentation.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, deployment, and production support.
Support enhancement, migration, rollout, and implementation activities.
Required Technical Skills
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:
SAP Process Orchestration (PO)
SAP Process Integration (PI)
Enterprise Services Repository (ESR)
Integration Directory (ID)
System Landscape Directory (SLD)
Interface and integration scenario development
Message mapping and transformation
XML / XSD
Communication channel configuration
Message monitoring and troubleshooting
SAP documents SLD, ESR, Integration Directory, and the Advanced Adapter Engine as key components involved in PO integration design, configuration, landscape information, and runtime message exchange.
Preferred Skills
SAP S/4HANA integration experience
SAP BTP / SAP Integration Suite exposure
Java mapping knowledge
XSLT mapping knowledge
Experience with synchronous and asynchronous interfaces
Experience in interface migration or modernization
Production support and performance troubleshooting experience
End-to-end implementation experience
SAP currently provides dedicated guidance for moving SAP Process Orchestration landscapes and interfaces toward SAP Integration Suite, so cloud-integration exposure can be useful as a secondary skill.
