Position: Azure Data Engineer
Experience: 5 to 12 years
Location: Trivandrum
JOB DESCRIPTION
Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Jobs, Workflows, Notebooks)
Advanced Python for data engineering (PySpark, data transformations, optimization)
Apache Spark concepts – batch & streaming processing
Strong SQL skills for analytics and data modelling
Experience with Azure Data Platform (ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
Data Modelling (Star/Snowflake), ETL/ELT pipeline design
CI/CD, version control (Git), and Agile delivery
Good-to-Have
Experience with Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog
Streaming platforms (Event Hubs, Kafka)
Exposure to IoT / Manufacturing / Supply Chain data
Experience with data quality, data governance, and observability tools
Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role
1 Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Python
2 Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows
3 Implement PySpark and Spark SQL transformations
4 Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources
5 Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance tuning
6 Collaborating with Data Scientists and Analysts
7 Implement CI/CD and DevOps best practices
8 Perform testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
9 Deploy data solutions on Azure cloud
10 Ensure security, governance, and compliance
11 Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Python
12 Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows
13 Implement PySpark and Spark SQL transformations
