About The Role
As a Backend Developer, you will help design, build, and maintain server-side applications and services. You will work with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and databases to deliver dependable technology solutions. The role includes creating clean, well-documented application programming interfaces, including REST APIs, and developing reusable components that can scale as business and client requirements evolve.
You will contribute to systems and services deployed across on-premises and cloud environments. Your work may involve configuring or supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. In collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders, you will help ensure that solutions meet architecture goals, support continuous delivery, and can be maintained over time. This position is suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, communicating with a team, and learning new tools and approaches.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have basic knowledge in one or more areas relevant to backend development, such as server-side application development, databases, networking, or client-server systems. Familiarity with API design and development, particularly REST APIs, is valuable.
Experience or understanding of Agile practices, cloud development, and DevOps methodologies is beneficial. Candidates should be able to approach technical challenges thoughtfully, collaborate with others, and communicate ideas clearly. An interest in designing scalable, reusable software and supporting applications through development and delivery will help you succeed in this role. The ability to learn and adapt as technologies and project needs change is also important.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, server applications, firmware, and database components. Create APIs that are clear, consistent, well-documented, and straightforward for other developers to use. Work with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development practices, and data systems to build reliable solutions.
Contribute to the configuration and development of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS applications. Help design and implement large-scale systems that support continuous delivery in on-premises and cloud environments. Develop reusable and scalable components that align with critical architecture goals. Collaborate with technical teams and other stakeholders, participate in Agile and cloud DevOps workflows, and support the ongoing improvement, quality, and maintainability of applications.
