Key Responsibilities
System Design: Develop detailed layouts for ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
Load Calculations: Compute heating and cooling loads to ensure proper system sizing and energy efficiency.
Equipment Selection: Choose optimal chillers, air handling units, and fans based on project needs and budgets.
Code Compliance: Ensure all designs follow safety rules and local building standards.
Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to integrate mechanical plans.
Required Skills And Software
AutoCAD & Revit: Use computer-aided design tools to draft precise 2D and 3D schematics.
Calculation Tools: Run programs like HAP or Hevacomp for thermal load analysis.
BIM Knowledge: Apply Building Information Modeling for modern construction coordination.
Technical Writing: Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), technical reports, and tender documents
Qualifications
Education: Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or building services engineering.
